Followed by ovations from the audience, the concert ‘Piano and Ballet’ by the Serbian pianist Vladimir Milošević was held in the Kolarac Endowment Concert Hall on May 7th.
Milošević performed transcriptions of the most famous ballet scores of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Igor Stravinsky and Maurice Ravel, as well as music composed for piano and then adapted for the ballet scene. The audience had the opportunity to hear the Concert Suite from the ballet ‘The Nutcracker’ by Tchaikovsky arranged by the famous pianist Mikhail Pletnev, the Concert Suite from the ballet ‘The Firebird’ by Stravinsky transcribed by Guido Agosti, Ravel's ‘La valse’, a choreographic poem, adapted for solo piano. In addition, Milošević chose the suite ‘Le tombeau de Couperin’ (The Tomb of Couperin), which Ravel composed for piano and later orchestrated certain movements.
The organizers of the concert are the Ilija M. Kolarac Endowment and the Belgrade Festivals Centre (CEBEF).
