The world-famous violinist Nemanja Radulović met with journalists on 31 May 2023 in the Residence of Princess Ljubica.

The programme editor at CEBEF, Milica Kadić, recalled the artist’s first, as she pointed out, brilliant performance in 2015 at the Students Square, and asked him how he felt about the concert announced for 3 July at Tašmajdan Stadium. Radulović answered:

‘I am really looking forward to the outdoor concert in Belgrade, this will be the second outdoor performance in a row, and it is part of the tour in Serbia and the region on the occasion of the new project Roots that we recorded last year. I cannot wait for the third of July, when I will see the Belgrade audience, but also the audience from the region. The musicians and I have been waiting for this tour in Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia for about a year and we are all looking forward to it.’

‘I like my repertoire to be varied when I am making a plan for the upcoming season or when I am recording albums. I need the compositions to have some common theme and concept. The album Roots was an idea born during the coronavirus pandemic, when people were in lockdown and could not travel anywhere. Then I enjoyed listening to music from all over the world. My colleagues and I wanted to express to the audience how we felt during that period, and the result is the album Roots’, he added.

The album Roots (Warner Classics) contains compositions such as ‘Što te nema’ by the singer Jadranka Stojaković, ‘Hommage à Aleksandar Šišić’, ‘Gelem, Gelem’, ‘Makedonsko devojče’, ‘King David’, ‘Mambo’, ‘Moscow Nights’, ‘The Butterfly Lovers’ and ‘Indifférence’, among others.
